About Miss Lavely....

This is my fifth year at Edwardsville Elementary. I taught 4th grade for 3 years and this is my second year in 5th. I graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign in 2006.  My degree is in Human Development and Family Studies/Pre-Pediatrics.  I worked in a hospital all throughout college and thought the medical world was for me...until my last year! 

In 2008, I graduated with a Masters of Arts in Education from Avila University in Kansas City, MO. While with the program I had an opportunity to teach for a summer in the Philippines, exploring both the public and private schools. I have enjoyed being able to share my experiences with my students and other colleagues here at EDW. 

I absolutely love teaching and being able to spend each day with intelligent, funny, and creative young minds!  They brighten each day and can always bring excitement to our classroom.

I live in Lawrence, KS.  When I am not teaching, you can find me at almost any sporting event (especially football), outdoors, playing with my two dogs, traveling, or enjoying time with my family and friends.
