During June and July, Thursday evenings are special in Bonner Springs because of the downtown concerts presented in Kelly Murphy Park, Second and Elm. The 85+-member band performs 10 concerts during the summer season at 8:30 p.m. in the park. Various civic organizations sponsor ice cream socials that give it that old-fashioned feeling. Rehearsals are held prior to each concert in the Bonner Springs High School cafeteria. If you would like to become a member of the band, please contact Bill Turley, Band Director. Otherwise, bring your lawn chair and sit back and enjoy an evening of music.
