![]() Miss Tammy is our fitness coordinator. She works once each week in each classroom with the children on activities designed to improve their gross-motor skills. She has worked with large balloons to help them learn to catch small items. They have participated in obstacle courses with each station being a different skill. They have worked as teams of three actually doing "push and pull" with one of the children in a box as the other two take turns pushing and pulling. They are learning how to play relays and some yoga breathing techniques to cool down. Tammy uses various lessons from the AAHPERD (American Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) website as well as the Head Start, Body Start curriculum. She will also be teaching the children how to skip, hop, ride a tricycle and walk on a balance beam during our time outside. |
