Miss Tammy is our visual arts coordinator.  She presents a lesson each month on a different art print from the Picturing America curriculum developed for Head Start programs across the nation by the National Endowment for the Humanities.  Through this program our children are exposed to art prints located in various gallaries across America.  Links to the prints are listed below.  Tammy has tried to tie in a community connection with each print presented.  So far we have visited a local tea room as we studied Paul Revere's portriat with a tea pot.  The children loved sitting in a booth by themselves, wearing a fancy hat and drinking from a real china cup.  The next print we studied was the Quilting Samples.  Each child designed a quilt block and these were taken to the local senior citizens center and are being made into class wall hangings.  We learned about...
