Welcome!  I work in the Special Education Department at Edwardsville Elementary.  Through an evaluation process, students are identified as showing a need for special education services.  An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is developed and the IEP team, which is the classroom teacher, the special education teacher, the principal, other specialists, and the parents, work together to implement a plan that focuses on strengths and needs of the student and provides accommodations and  modifications needed for their success.  Students are given support in the general education setting or in a separate setting based upon their need.
