Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a splash of color and creativity! Our Bonner Springs Elementary students have been creating beautiful Papel Picado banners in art class while learning about the cultural significance of this traditional Mexican folk art.

🎨🌳Our preschool students at Delaware Ridge are starting their tree study with some inspiration from Bob Ross! After watching a bit of his artistic magic, they spent some time outside painting their own interpretations of the tree line behind the school. These BRAVE young artists have talent!

Bonner Springs High School Diversity Ambassadors hosted the second annual metro area Diversity Conference yesterday, bringing together over 250 students and their teachers for a day of sharing, learning, and fun! Students from schools across Wyandotte, Johnson, Leavenworth, Shawnee, and Douglas Counties participated in sessions focused on different areas of diversity and inclusion, and shared ways they could make a difference in their own communities. Special keynote speaker Jermaine Wilson shared his story and encouraged students to embrace opportunity, use their voices, and be BRAVE in all that they do.

Fall is upon us and that means beautiful weather! Enjoy those crisp cool evenings with your very own BONNER SPRINGS BRAVES blanket. When you purchase a BRAVES blanket you are helping Project Graduation. Follow the link for more information: https://bit.ly/4ec2yoC

CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 to the 2024 Bonner Springs High School Homecoming King and Queen…Hudson Razak and Maddy Maynard! 🧡🖤

We had the honor of surprising the district's two nominees for the Kansas Horizon Award in their classrooms today! Through reviewing staff, student, and parent feedback along with building administrator recommendations, the district selected Ali Mohney, FACS teacher at Clark Middle School, and Sarah Alas, 2nd grade teacher at Delaware Ridge Elementary, to represent USD 204 in the 2025 program. The Horizon Award, sponsored by the KS State Department of Education, identifies and recognizes representatives of excellent teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms having completed their first year of teaching in a PreK-12 Kansas school. Congratulations to our BRAVE educators! Both are excellent representatives of their schools, our district, and the community.

All are invited to join us for Homecoming events tomorrow evening! Parade at 5 PM, Pep Rally following at 5:30 with food trucks & fun, then cheer on the Braves at 7 PM vs. Rock Creek, including the Coronation at halftime. Let’s celebrate our school spirit together! Details: https://bit.ly/4gzeySA

USD 204 Staff braved the hills of Bonner Springs on Saturday, joining the annual Tiblow Trot! Thanks to the district's employee wellness program, which covers registration costs, we had a record number of staff participants this year. Our students also got involved — the band performed, and our cheerleaders welcomed participants as they crossed the finish line. A big thank you to the Bonner Springs Rotary for organizing this community event, with proceeds supporting the Rotary Club's scholarship program that benefits our BSHS graduates each year!

Mr. Mackey, DRE Media Specialist, representing USD 204 on KSHB-41 news tonight during the back to school coverage!

"Back to School" holds a special meaning for some of our BRAVES! We have over 80 staff members who attended school in USD 204, and we were able to pull some of them together for a group photo at this year's Convocation. This is a testament to the strong sense of community and the lasting impact our district has on its students. A true reflection of the pride we all share in being part of the USD 204 family.

🎉 Exciting days ahead! Today we welcomed our BRAVE new Kindergarteners, 6th, and 9th graders for Orientation Day. Here's to new friends, big adventures, and an amazing school year!

We welcomed all staff back this week with the annual USD 204 Convocation event! We heard from our friends at the Chamber of Commerce, the Bonner Springs/Edwardsville Education Foundation distributed Walmart gift cards to all teachers, counselors, and nurses, and First State Bank & Trust presented the district with earnings from the School Spirit Debit Card Program! The event wrapped up with celebrations, honoring our longest-serving staff and welcoming the new faces to our USD 204 family. Finally, Superintendent Rick Moulin shared his vision for the year ahead, and staff shared their own excitement to be entering a new BRAVE era!
